Getting started: connect from cURL, Python and Playwright

After you order a proxy, the dashboard shows everything you need to connect: a host, a port, a username and a password. This guide shows how to use them from the command line, Python and a headless browser, and how to switch to IP allowlisting if you do not want credentials in your code.

1. Find your connection details

Open the dashboard, pick your proxy and select Manage. The Connection Details tab lists the host, port and a ready-made connection string, each with a copy button. The examples below use placeholders: replace HOST, PORT, USER and PASS with your values.

2. Test it with cURL

Both commands should print the proxy’s public IP, not yours. If they do, the proxy works and everything else is configuration.

3. Use it from Python

Use a requests.Session for anything beyond a single call, so cookies and connections are reused through the proxy.

5. Prefer IP allowlisting?

In the Configuration tab, switch authentication from username and password to allowed IPs and add the public addresses of your servers. Requests from those addresses are accepted without credentials, so your connection string becomes just HOST:PORT. This is handy for tools that do not support proxy authentication.

6. Rotate when you need a new IP

Copy your rotation URL from Connection Details and call it whenever you want a fresh address, or set an automatic interval in Configuration. Give the modem a few seconds to reconnect before sending the next request.

Troubleshooting

• 407 Proxy Authentication Required: check the username and password, or add your IP to the allowlist.
• Timeouts right after a rotation: wait a few seconds and retry; the modem is reconnecting.
